This Advanced Stakeholder Management training course will sharpen your skills in confidently managing stakeholder relationships. The contemporary world of work revolves around stakeholders – suppliers, customers, employees, shareholders, financiers and many more; Project working typically increases the span and quantity of stakeholders, because of the indirect reporting lines, which often cross functional or even organizational boundaries. In the old days, management by command and control was effective and got things done, but these days, much more is required in terms of analyzing the relationships with the high priority stakeholders and managing them productively.

By attending this training course, you will gain insights from short and specific theory blocks covering good practices, interactive exercises simulating stakeholder management situations, case study analysis, interpreting video materials and much more. This Advanced Stakeholder Management training course is built around a series of short theory blocks (approximately 35% of the course activity time), with the rest of the activities being highly interactive, including case study analysis, role plays and other simulations, viewing and interpreting video content at regular points. Participants will also benefit from feedback from their peers, as well as from a highly experienced instructor, who will lead the course.

DAY 3: Assessing the High Priority Stakeholders
  • Circles of Influence, differing frameworks and their use
  • A range of frameworks for assessing stakeholder priority and their pros and cons
  • Stakeholders’ self-image, needs, concerns and behaviors
  • Social style – quickly analyze stakeholder behavior and decide how to respond for a positive outcome – a deep dive into the technique
  • Influencing without power, techniques, and tips for making a high impact
DAY 4: Engaging and Managing Your Stakeholders
  • Developing a stakeholder communications strategy
  • Identifying specific concerns and tailoring the messages accordingly
  • Creating a tailored stakeholder communications and engagement plan
  • Setting up and managing stakeholder meetings
  • Managing disagreements and moving to a productive outcome
DAY 5: Negotiating Successful Outcomes
  • The processes of negotiation
  • Developing your negating position
  • Negotiating using a principled approach
  • Dealing with challenges
  • Driving negotiations to mutually successful outcomes

Are there prerequisites or language requirements?

There are no prerequisites. Our courses are open to students of all backgrounds who are 18 years of age and older. All courses are conducted in English. Video lectures include English subtitles and the option to slow-down, pause, or replay lectures for better retention. Discussion boards are a critical component of each of our courses; therefore, we suggest students have a conversational knowledge of English when pursuing a Certificate of Completion. For any of the art writing courses, students need to be 100% proficient in written English.

How many students are in a course? Who will be my classmates?

Our classes are kept small, at no more than 30 students, to better facilitate and encourage personalized interaction with the instructor and fellow participants. Your classmates come from all over the globe and contribute their global perspectives and experience. Some are currently working within the arts while others are just beginning. All classmates share in their passion for the art world.

Do I need specific equipment to take Online Courses?

You should have an up-to-date web browser such as: Chrome, Safari, Firefox, or Internet Explorer. Our Online Courses can be accessed on a mobile or tablet device, although we strongly encourage you to have access to a desktop or laptop computer and reliable internet connection for certain course components.
